Actually, Jesus said not to judge others. And he also commanded you to look to your own sins, rather than worrying about the sins of others. Control is not love. It always amuses me to see how far control-hungry authoritarians will go to excuse their wicked desires to control others. You are not Jesus, last I checked. Nobody gets controlled, chided, judged, and thumped into Christianity.
In fact, control, as a tactic, only works on authoritarians like yourself. The more ex-Christians there are, the easier it is to spot the cruel hypocrites lurking within the religion.
Jesus never involved himself in politics…was not his mission. Show a better way. People are political, not God…. And can you say that there is not a point in your life where you express a certain ideal but you failed to achieve it?
Not the priest or the pastor, they are just mere shepherds, the Doctor is Jesus. Come on guys, we all fall short of that perfect standard and if there is perfect Justice, it will only be fair that every sin must be punished, that include what the Christians commit and what you commit. Christians get stuck on an issue. Abortion or homosexuality or pornography to name a few and then they see little else. People want to be heard. Give others a chance to say how they feel and why, and the courtesy of you really listening before reacting.
Christians tend to shut people down and turn a blind ear to them just on one issue or opinion. Some Christians are extraordinarily good at it and many of those become caring counsellors. I am a Christian. Jesus sat with, listened to and spoke with many people who had had colourful lives and were not accepted by the religious figures of that time and place. Many of us are working on it. You might be pleasantly surprised.
Even if they appear in the same book as those issues they deem so awful. Nobody riots about eating pork, or bombs clothing stores for selling blended fabrics. However, they will scream at homosexuals for existing, and bomb abortion clinics. The way Christians select which parts of the Bible they feel need enforcement an the parts they can safely ignore demonstrates the malleability of faith.
Religionnis a useful tool for social cohesion, but for the most part, like all faiths and ideologies, is the servant to the biases of its adherents. No people of any religion or belief are perfect …. The World is far from perfect so we must find a way to live together in peace. Jesus had much to say regarding this. If we want to know more we only have to read the words he left for us and make our own conclusions. He forces no one to believe. It is all up to us. One life, many choices. We must choose wisely.
The right choices can change you and your life forever…. But your desire to silence someone speaking truth like this speaks to how imperfect your Jesus-ing is. Maybe you should Jesus harder. Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.
Ephesians Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Do you value kindness, love, and humility?
I thought that is what Christianity was supposed to be about.? No Christian is like another, as no human is like another. If God is real, we are mere humans but created in his image…so we are like sheep the Bible says. Sheep are not so smart and are followers of the lead sheep who is also not so smart. God left us a guide book to follow. Man left to his own devices is doomed to failure…just look around today…and in history.
We all need God and there is only and can only be one true God. He himself says so. Proverbs Many things seem right to us, but God knows the right way…if we follow him, we find the right ways in life.
Not perfect without problems, but the right way which leads to peace within……. Out of curiosity, do you actually know WHY shepherds keep sheep? I have never understood why Christians were so happy to think of themselves that way, nor to call their god a shepherd.
They follow well and were a common part of that culture. Your inferences are quite amusing……. I would just add that sheep were kept mainly for wool and milk, and sometimes meat. You imply that God is fattening us up for the kill? But He could just as easily do without us and leave us to be eaten by the wolves and lions.
To keep in context here, shepherds know what is best for the Sheep, the best pastures, best shelter, etc etc. They lead and protect the Sheep. God does that for his people if we will only follow…. Comments Their teeth are rotten or missing Their tattoos look terrible Did you see their clothes? His hair is to long. Has he lost his razor? He or she is still drinking. I can tell they are on some kind of drugs.
Did you see what they were wearing? What will people think. Did you see what they are driving? They are not married and they live together. How can they come to church? They smell like a cigarette. They show up Everytime we have a church meal. Yes they do!!!!!!! After Jesus died and rose again, there was now a NEW COVENANT for Christians which excluded a lot of different laws like the pork one meaning they can now freely get some pork on their fork and be free from other things that used to be sins.
A lot of Christians predominantly follow the New Testament and a lot of the laws and practices from the old testament are not followed and immoral E. Once we have the Holy Spirit we have a desire to please God rather than just a fear of hell. This is what blows the mind with Christianity, as one could theoretically do whatever he wanted, live however he wanted and still go to heaven — except that he no longer WANTS to sin but to become more like Christ.
I see. So the only parts of Christianity that matter so much are quotes from the New Testament and not the old ones.
The New Covenant is supposedly love, not a set of statutes like Leviticus. The most the NT has to say about homosexuality is some crankiness in Romans from Paul, who among other things also took a dim view of marriage.
Oh, we know Christians judge and hate us. They can keep it, and their fake god. In the meanwhile, you can keep your vile, wicked threats to yourself. I make decisions based on facts. And the facts are these: your god is an imaginary friend.
Heaven is imaginary. Nothing supernatural has ever been supported by a single shred of credible evidence. And Hell is what you use to threaten people into compliance — because threats worked to get you into compliance.
They have no discernment they just jump on bandwagons and ignore facts and proof as long as the narrative strokes their fur. The people of truth love lies. Just look at the insane anti Fauci nonsense. I said what did he do wrong? Remember there are no perfect people. You have to look at the whole picture if you want the truth. There is truth and it can be found for those who truly look like seeking for treasure. This world needs hope…and there IS hope.
We are not. Christians do not love lies…they love truth. Any frustration on this front should be shared behind closed doors to trustworthy people, not posted on a public forum. Terry, While I believe that Christians can typically be more gullible than people of other faiths, I suppose you are right in that other face or also filled with manipulators who are willing to lie, obfuscate and take advantage of anyone willing to listen.
This is why having no faith is preferable in my opinion. Personally, I think it is their faith that leads them to these people. Christians I think are just the worst offenders, however. For example: the Christian church, which preaches a modest living in the scripture, has a vast amount of wealth in my home country, and pays none of the taxes.
And somehow, they continue to ask more of the congregation. And they give it to them. Wait, you are a pastor at a church and you call christians gullible goats? This whole thread proves that religion is a huge yolk that burdens people beyond reason. The freedom of living without having to worry if you are doing religion correctly is incredibly liberating.
Freedom from religion is true happiness. Everyone that wants to reply with a Bible quote proves my point. Hi Doug! Someone already told the pastor he was out of line. But thanks for further emphasising that it sets a bad example. Or is it just the church that fails? Jesus is the best of humanity after all, awesome social reformer with revolutionary thinking for his day, not to mention all the lives dramatically altered for the better in his day and since.
Far better than license which is vastly overrated! Since knowing Christ in my life I have never felt more free, more whole. The church is a work in progress hence this article to rattle a few cages and help people think and grow. God gave us free choice in a world in which each action has a reaction or consequence. He is worth exploring. Please respect the freedom of choice we have in following Jesus as you have the freedom to comment on this site. We as Christians have a responsibility to reveal Christ through our lives.
A number of Christians have revealed Him demonstrated His qualities to me in my life. Yes and hopefully we people can all learn to just get along better in general. We are all in this life together so more love is a good thing. No need to judge each other. We have freedom of choice in this Country and we should respect each other more. God loves us all equally…we should do the same…. Pastor Mark, The older I get, the more intense my negative emotions seem to be.
I find myself running to my knees more and more asking Jesus to help me want to give up a negative perspective, emotion, intention. But I have to in order to not let them grow and morph into something that would not be pleasing to my Lord.
It makes me weep as I think of the battles waged at the throne by me and on my behalf. So with that as a confession, my sharing my ongoing attitudinal struggles, please consider taking to the throne what you are feeling towards your congregants. But so worth throwing down the rags that are my ungodly attitudes. Being clean before Him is lush.
When I discovered my faith was based on illusions and fantasies and basic manipulation of my ignorance, it fell from me like a funeral shroud. Even then, I see the scared children inside them that learned some truly dreadful lessons at a vulnerable age from the adults they knew as the only source of primary care they had — as you probably did, and as I certainly did.
I found a better roadmap that actually works. Maybe you will too, one day. I promise. Many of us have walked this road already; we know where it leads. Nobody can hand it to you. Nobody ever could. What you need most is in your heart right now. This is the Problem of Wingnuts: once one false belief is fervently accepted, more follow inevitably. The more seriously the believer takes the first false belief, the more likely they are to accept more — and become wingnuts.
Once wingnuttery is achieved, it almost always only ratchets in one direction, into worse and weirder false beliefs. They just leap ahead to the next ice floe in the river! Christianity, as a belief system, makes dozens of false claims about reality. Accepting them can only be done in denial of what reality tells us. The only way to prevent becoming a wingnut is not to get TOO invested in the false belief. Fervent evangelicals despise those non-fervent sorts, of course.
They insult them, demean them, seek to impoverish them, and even attack them. However, their victims seem like the only ones in that whole barking-mad tribe who avoid the worst hypocrisies that come along with that compartmentalization of reality.
The mechanisms that maintain wingnut beliefs also open the door to abusive behavior in leaders — and to abusers being protected over their victims. This is why, when I deconverted, I made a policy of joining only groups whose ideology was based on reality alone, meaning groups that rejected utterly all beliefs that could not be supported by reality-based observations and measurements.
Since then, that guideline has kept Tell Me A Lie - Various - Modern Action Records Handouts (CD) out of all manner of trouble. But it happens way less often, in my direct lived experience and in the study I do of spiritual abuse. Give me reality every single time. Reality-based living protects me far better than any imaginary friends EVER did. And it gets way better results than thinking super-hard at the ceiling. All human beings on the planet are hypocrites in one way or another.
We all have delusions about ourselves being this, that or the other thing. Christians need a re-boot, a renovation, sure thing. But so does every single human being. To be more humble, more silent, more forgiving. And to be more honest about our true essence which is rather lovely. But for some reason we all walk around wearing masks of indifference to our true selves and to others. Rather than say Christians are this or that.
And remarkably, the god of quarks and quasars completely agrees that your weird, quirky lil take is the correct one that he likes best. Does it feel good to have the weird, quirky lil take that your god likes bestest of all? I bet it does; I bet you do.
Maybe the Catholics had a good idea in corralling everything together into one distinct catechism, though they sold it with force and maintained it through fire and the sword.
The moment Protestants got unhinged from them, they went wild. I saw something on Wiki claiming there are close to 40, denominations, maybe 50k, with more sprouting to life every day. And every one of those denominations thinks just like you do, with the same exact proof you think you have. Hannah, it appears that we disagree on a few fundamental issues that are too deep to get into in this kind of forum…and I am confused as to what you actually believe as from your comments below it seemed you were an atheist who does not believe in an afterlife.
I do agree that we are all created by the same God but since man chose to rebel in the Garden of Eden most people became orphans with no Father, by choice — so I also agree that we have free will. I do not believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers, however as the Bible does not support this. And most of the modern English Bible translations have been derived directly from the oldest Hebrew and Greek manuscripts available such as the Dead Sea Scrolls, not from other English translations such as the King James Bible.
But you are correct in that the Old and New Testaments are one continuous story, the OT being frequently quoted by Jesus and also used by the apostles who wrote the NT to develop the theology of salvation by faith.
You do not know why people seek Christ! They seek him to change their ways to help them in their life to stop sining Not one person in this world is without sin no pastor no priest no church we all fall short!
I have friends of all type gay, different race food and bad! Yes respect for sure. Why anyone would not want eternal life ia a perfect heaven is hard to figure. So whatever I believe Heaven to be it is? How do you know about heaven?
Far more than an old text…even historians agree on that. No other book in the world like it…none. So, if you want to know about it there are hundreds and hundreds of resources. Nothing fabricated about it. Far more than fairy tales. Written by 40 people over years and they all say the same basic things. Prophecies fullfilled in one man…. No other book like it…unique in many ways but in the end you must believe and have faith that it is true. Most who make these blanket statements have never really looked in to the Bible to seriously seek the truth….
They do not want to. That is the sad fact. If they did. The Bible man written God inspired. Gives us instruction on how we should treat each other. Plus mistakes and triumphs man has made throughout history. Mankind has a deep need to connect with his creator. To live a life that is fulfilling and good. The Bible gives information on how to do this. It may not be perfect but it is the best hope we have. Christianity is about Love and Hope.
We are sinners and have character defects, Tell Me A Lie - Various - Modern Action Records Handouts (CD). Please forgive us for our faults. Most of us are loving and faithful to doing better than we were before accepting Christ as our savior.
Humility and Love something we all have to work on. We are trying. There are food giveaways weekly in our local communities along with other free servicies. All of these are Christian Ministries. While people may have opinions about us remember that is judgement on their part. I have been wrong about many things and will continue to be in the future. Through Jesus I have forgoveness. This is what I believe.
Most all thinking people believe Jesus walked this Earth. If he was here, who was he? Is he equal to God? Did he do miracles? How do all those prophecies about him just happen to be true, written thousands of years before he was here?
Did he raise the dead? Heal the sick? Raise himself from death? If he really did these things what do you do with that? Would you want to know more about it? Most afterlives would become utterly boring in very little time. One Jewish afterlife consists of arguing Talmudic minutiae, a subject of little interest to most people. Valhalla is a combination steakhouse and brawl, with everyone dying in a big battle at the end. One commonly-held Christian heaven has everyone singing hymns of praise to a megalomaniac.
That would become pretty boring after about the first ten seconds. Only the Hindu and Buddhist concepts of nirvana, going to utter nothingness, has any appeal to me. Does it really matter! Tell Me A Lie - Various - Modern Action Records Handouts (CD) we believe in God we believe in God. We all have our own path to follow through out OWN experiences. And what suits one does not suit another. We are all rivers going to the same ocean.
Whether you are Christian, Muslim, Hindu or atheist you all believe in that. A belief is still just a concept of the human kind. What suits ones mind or heart will not Tell Me A Lie - Various - Modern Action Records Handouts (CD) another. Can we not just accept that this is the truth. I am a Christian new however, I have studied Buddhism and vishara! Meditation helped with the mental side but god for ME!
Does not mean I expect others to be the same I accept others for who they are. And I accept me. Acceptance goes along way. Love to all of you!! But believing is a better choice then Not! Just read the Bible, the Bible has so much proof. The Bible has so much history about Jesus. God is the creator of the Universe and all the creation and ex creation. And thinking there is no God who created all the creatures is being inorgat about where the creatures came from.
Bring it out. However I will not accept anything with logical fallacies, semantic ambiguities, emotional appeals threats are an emotional appealor personal testimonies. And we includes you. Thank you RJ Anderson! Remember he who is in me is greater than he who is in the world! Thank you Jesus for dying for our sins.
The number of sheer hypocrites in Christian groups is astounding. Do you ever wonder how non-Christians manage to be decent human beings? This was a big problem for me when I was Christian. I could only conclude:. My solution was to go with reality. It relies on people failing its flawed roadmap. If people really improved in its use, their Dear Leaders would be out of work. Reading your comments I pick up anger, disillusionmentperhaps hurt and and bitterness with people. Perfectly in context with the initial article that began all this.
Your experience seems very people focused. It is God who has been seeking, finding and mending me and it is that relationship that matters most. Try to be open to the fact that there is more than just your experience. There is a lot of emphasis on forgiveness in Christianity for the fact it is necessary for whole people and good relationships. Having said that your experience if it has included anything as severe as abuse will need a lot more counselling, love and support for you to get to that place of healing.
There are things we should feel angry about but to live in a state of anger is harmful to the self. It is a sad truth that evil sometimes hides in places we least expect it.
We all need to exercise greater wisdom, not blind faith. Please get help to find peace. After all that as a less important emphasis than your wellbeing sometimes there are measurable answers to prayer when they involve physical changes, sometimes immediate change.
There is a lot more good fruit than you realise. I am doing fine with peace. Groups based around your religion are the very last I would ever join if I wanted forgiveness or peace. And you are one of them. Thank you for reminding me of what a wicked and evil ideology Christianity is. It turned you into the person who creeped at me, dismissed me, disqualified me, and sought control of me to silence me.
I apologise for psychoanalysing you. I am analytical by nature. My experience of Christianity is that it has worked for me and others I know. I have experienced some very Christlike behaviours amongst Christians. I have experienced genuine change through my prayer life. I have seen physical answers to prayer that were measurable. Strong individualism is important to me. Christian blogs are not about airing opinion but stimulating positive change in the church. But we always have a choice. Christianity works when we make the right choices.
If this has been another failed attempt at reasonable discourse with you I will have to surrender further attempts. Do take the utmost care. Thank you for the apology, though you continued to try to exert control of me through wrong guesses about my past and character and attempts to manipulate me. To me right now, that something sounds a lot like a sense of superiority over others and a way to take control of them. These both come from fear.
I remember that fear very well. Eventually it hit a peak so bad I ended up in a complete panic. That has nothing whatsoever to do with my personality, my past, my experiences, or anything else but this: the claims do not possess credible evidence to support themselves. No Christian has ever, even once, come up with any good credible reason to believe a single claim made about their god.
Your faith is based on emotion, not reason. Please forgive any spelling errors. Sorry again if I got the wrong idea from your comments. Apparently I should give up trying to be understanding. Every time I try it goes horribly wrong and you see only manipulation. I was stunned by the superiority comment. If you knew me and my background you could potentially laugh at the thought. There are comments on this blog where sincere believers are only too aware of their own shortcomings.
None in my experience involving my faith. Are you talking about fear of punishment like old fire and brimstone preachers or some Tell Me A Lie - Various - Modern Action Records Handouts (CD) peer pressure community that call unchristian attitudes spreading fear, prejudice and judgement Christian? Christianity should be about humility and love. But becoming humble can take a long time. My mind, my heart, my will and my spirit should all be involved in my faith as a way of life.
An emotion dominated faith can lead to messed up Christianity, easily swayed by others. Context is everything. There are also some good online discussions about science in the Bible.
As a new Christian I did consider that a super powerful being could arguably create all in six days because I try not to be close minded.
It challenges other beliefs of that time in how it is written too. Having spent a long time with God now I have never experienced Him rush through anything. He is thorough. I could give a few examples of physically measurable changes in response to prayer.
There are many who could give you better rational arguments than I. I do wish you well. Take care. Does this message typer keep deleting more than its asked to for anyone else? The Bible itself is a perfect roadmap for life, people are not and never will be. Yes Christians as a whole should be better people and most have a heart after God, but some are not such good examples. The Bible has the answers to the worlds problems if we will only follow. God gives peace and changes lives if and when you believe….
No need to wait till the end of life to find out…. There is very very much evidence to that fact if you will only look…. I spent half my life as a fervent believer. What the Bible says about reality does not line up with reality. What finally broke me of belief was that realization.
But the kicker was my pastor getting brain cancer. He was a very big name in my denomination, so millions of Christians prayed earnestly for his magical healing. Obviously, he only declined. The family rightly kicked him out. That night, that pastor died in misery. It blew my mind. This death violated every Bible promise there was about prayer. When I found out a while later about the incident with my husband, I went to my Bible to read and study it more.
I needed to know exactly what it said, and I needed to make sure it aligned with reality. That night I deconverted. Now that I knew what it said, I could see nothing about it aligned with reality. Deconversion is as simple a process as a child losing belief in Santa when she finds presents wrapped in the closet and a Santa costume hanging next to them. How do we know if God will answer? And I prayed for her. My friends and family prayed for her.
I was already reading the Bible regularly but now I studied verses on trust and hope. I took her to the vet for regular treatments for months, and within weeks she was much better — more than the vets expected and in contrast to most cases like hers.
Then at 13 her condition returned with a vengeance, and although we got her walking again she never fully recovered and remained on a downward spiral for the next two years until she left us this past January. Did I not choose the right treatment, or not pray hard enough, or use the right words? Had God failed me? She had always been the comeback-kid and defied expectations, so why not this time? We are finally building our new house after 12 years of waiting, and I had so hoped she would still be with us and could at least walk down the driveway with me to check the mail.
Now as my fears of moving into an empty house — a mausoleum, as it were — are coming true, the analogy that occurred to me in the course of removing the Chinese privet from our yard has remained in my mind: that where we see devastation, God sees a new beginning.
As for the Bible not lining up with reality, I might ask for examples but in a sense you are correct in that it stands in contrast with the real world in the standards that it sets. On the other hand it is uncanny in its portrayal of human nature e. In time you may well add this portion of your life to your eternal story. I think people feel convicted around Christians in general and confuse that with feeling judged by them.
Some could care less but the ones who feel judged, feel something and that can be a good thing. Christians need to be careful not to sound and act judgemental for sure, but they are not responsible for anothers feelings regarding the judging necessarily. I like that Jesus got most angry with religious people full of pride and self righteousness who enjoyed positions of power. I love that He cared about all the marginalised people of his day. That is who we follow. Follow more closely Church! Great article.
Christians are sinners. I am a believer, a Christian, and I know I see hypocracy in others as well as myself at times. I think Christians are like other groups… the negative comes to the forefront. We also have a racist history to overcome. Churches as a group have to identify the past issues as well as current ones. As an individual, I struggle with keeping the mindset that I know Christ wants me to have especially when that guy cuts me off in traffic… Lol.
I just try to think before I speak or act. Daily prayer and reading my Bible really help keep me mentally focused. My belief is that ultimately we will either spend eternity worshipping God in heaven or burning in hell.
My desire is to just be a witness and leave the rest up to God. We are certainly free to own our own sins, but as ultimate justice demands death for anything less than perfection that would mean eternity separated from God — an eternal death. Because none of us is perfect God provided a way out through Jesus. That would be like trying to wash muddy hands with more mud.
But because Jesus was already perfect and lived a perfect life here on earth, He is the only person qualified to pay the penalty for our sin. We know that He did and that God accepted this arrangement because Jesus rose again and there is historical proof that this happened, btw. I am a Christian now but Eternity was for me an abhorrent thought to begin with. This life is hard enough I thought, who would want more of it?
Not existing seemed a lovely peaceful thought, an end to pain, troubles etc. I discovered that living through it with God, I grew, healed, became increasingly less selfish and able to help others more. Perhaps because physical people struggle with getting their heads round spiritual life, what term of reference could we relate to?
Remember there are two forces at work here. One to confuse you, and one to make things clear. The Bible talks of this many times and if you look at this book that has survived thousands of years written by 40 men inspired by God you will find truth.
Many people who were confused by life and headed down a terrible path have been changed by God. There are many of these testimonies. If only people would take the time to look with an open mind their lives can be changed forever…for the better. This should be the priority of all people yet many do not take the time to seriously look at who Jesus was and why he was here…….
You are. Your hell-belief has created all manner of problems in your life, and you just revealed a bunch of them here without even realizing it. Your terror of the unknown and fear of death have been manipulated by hucksters. But rest easy.
Be not afraid. What roadmap would you find that actually works? Maybe you will one day. I have hope for everyone. You say that non-Christians hate this about me. There is not much I can do about this. I keep trying to interact with people. I am in deep therapy with a Christian psychologist. I am so broken. I am so sorry about the difficulties you are working through. Jon, I want you to take care of you. You advise people to make friends with the unwashed heathens around them so they can eventually pitch their product membership in their group to them.
And trust me, it will only hurt the people your followers target with their totally-for-realsies sincerity. We know. Many of us avoid fervent Christians as a matter of course just to avoid the pain of getting ghosted when we reject the inevitable sakes pitch. Be friends with no aim to turn your friends into Christians. If they never ask, would you still be their friend?
Their ideology offers nothing we need. And your reframing of the sales pitch itself was really dishonest, by the way. I wonder sometimes if Christian leaders do their best to sabotage mixed-faith relationships by saddling Christians with instructions guaranteed to destroy those relationships or prevent them from happening. The very last thing those leaders should want is their followers getting too cozy with non-believers. Hi Jon I am sorry you have such a deep struggle in your life and my heart goes out to you.
Please realize that YOU are not driving people away from Christ. If you love Jesus Christ and are doing your best to follow his example, let me assure you He is right there beside you and certainly not blaming you for driving people away from Him. Please look after yourself and continue your therapy.
Wishing you the strength of hope in Peace, Light and Love be to you Jon. When all is said and done we are all broken at some level, but acknowledging this is the first step toward becoming whole. Yes Christians should love u conditionally but many are not so good at it.
Also as u said it is difficult for you simply because of who you are. You are a unique wonderfully made man of God. Jesus is your best friend and I will pray He will be all you need Yet bless you will individuals who will become true friends in Christ Do not give up.
Certainly the Lord knows your need and He Will meet it. God bless and k ow others are praying for you!! Even better walk in the desert for 40 yrs. None will be missed. Patricia are you referring to the article in general because the posts immediately above yours are dealing with a vulnerable person with literal language issues? Please remember that not everyone is identical however. Not every American is the same, or every white person, and the same goes for every large group of people who share something.
The above article questions judgement. My non Christian upbringing was very judgemental. Credit the good stuff, change the bad. Many others expect people to conform to a narrow view of what they are comfortable with and hurt people. Words can build or destroy.
Jesus was welcomed by a few. He had just 12 Disciples. One of which Judas Iscariot betrayed him with a kiss on the cheek for 30 pieces of silver. Matthew Filled with remorse he returned the money to the Temple. Shortly there after he went into a farm field and hung himself. Acts Mark Jesus knew that to follow his teachings and his way would not be acceptable to many. Jesus was just too tolerant for the rules of that day and time.
Read the above scriptures closely. John the truth will set you free. Let me get out of the way. I get very, very frustrated in traffic, as you can imagine.
Just a general sort of thing. Yes, even myself. I get incredibly irritated with my own imperfections as well.
Little things. So it could all have something to do with all of that. Anyroad, I feel like my candle burned itself out after I lit both ends and the middle a long time ago. How do I get a new candle? Where can I find it? Because I sure would like one. That is a tough one. Tell Me A Lie - Various - Modern Action Records Handouts (CD) are in a spiritual battle each day…. Satan is bad, evil, and wants you to suffer. God is in charge of this messed up world and we should be thankful for each day and pray each day for peace in our lives.
We cannot control everything but should have faith God has it under control…. Hi Liz. I am so sorry you have had such a tough year in and I can truly, personally, understand the way you have been feeling. However, the fact that you did your particular search and ended up here seems to indicate that part of you does want to change.
I think that is part of the whole healing process after being through a very rough year of stressful things all piling on top of each other in your life.
Speak kindly to yourself and nurture yourself before you try to deal with all those frustrating people around you. Just because you have not frequented church in while I am in the same boat does not mean that help from God is not available to you.
You do not have to go to church to have a personal relationship with Him if you wish it. Seek out some grief counselling, because it sounds like you may need some to help you cope with the loss of your parent, as well as your major health issues — all these things can cause grief, anger and depression. Sometimes just having a chat with someone who understands can give you enormous support and help you to find peace. All the best for May you receive many blessings. Have you ever tried meditation?
I started many years ago in conjunction with yoga practice. Once you learn how to calm your mind and center yourself you will find your life falling into place, being at the right place at the right time. Eat healthy food and take time for yourself. Enjoy nature wherever you find it. Make a plan for your future, map out the steps and follow your path.
